How can a young man keep his way pure?
9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word.
10 With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments!
11 I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
12 Blessed are you, O LORD; teach me your statutes!
13 With my lips I declare all the rules of your mouth.
14 In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways.
16 I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.
– Psalm 119:10-16

Who can say, “I have made my heart pure; I am clean from my sin”? – Proverbs 20:9

having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, – Ephesians 1:18
The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. – 1 Timothy 1:5
And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. – Revelation 19:14
Purity is a valuable commodity in the Kingdom of God. The ark and the Mercy Seat were to be made of pure gold (Exodus 25). Pure oil was to be used in the lampstand in the tabernacle (Leviticus 24). Jesus was anointed by Mary with pure Nard (John 12:3) an expensive perfume used in the Jewish Tabernacle. The saints will be dressed in pure white linens, when they return with the Faithful and True Lord. Job’s main question was “can a man be pure before His maker?” which is echoed by Soloman in the Proverbs. Jesus said “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” which reflects Job’s response “I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you” (Job 42:5). Paul speaks of “having the eyes of your heart enlightened”. So how does a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. Soloman warns us to guard our heart for from it come the issues of life (Pr 4:23). Paul tells Timothy to love from a pure heart. With our whole heart we should seek Him. If we hide the word oh God in our heart we will not sin against God. We need to meditate on the Word of God, let it sink into our hearts and not forget His Word.
